I'm born in 1958 and live Niels Winthersvej 22, 9800 Hjørring, Denmark.
For a period of two years I was the pupil of the painter Knud Bøjer, learning graphics and oil painting. I passed examination in art history, composition, picture analysis.
I took a class in sculpturing at the Aarhus Academy of Art. Went for art-courses in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. I have had a stay on Bali for two months, making sketches and gathering inspiration. We often go to the south of France to visit and study the caves with the pre-historic paintings, It is all very inspiring.
I shape and design my glass and now I solely make my paintings on glass. I prefer the glass because, beside the aspect of painting, it also includes the craftsman like preparation of the glass by fusing and slumping. I am fascinated by the infinite expressions you can create from glass.
The glass as a painting surface, contains an extra dimension,- the transparency. That I try to incorporate in the painting. The expression I try to create, must contain a respect for the characteristics of the glass,- the spatial shape and the transparency. The motifs takes their starting point either in experiences or something that fascinates me. In my paintings I have different themes, you can read more about those on the gallery page.
